– Top 10 Backlist Books I Own & Still Need to Read –
Now, this is a TTT prompt I can really get behind because, like most of you, my owned TBR list is RIDICULOUS. I try really hard to not let it get too out of control but even so my evergrowing book hoard is reaching a new level. As we’re showing some love to backlist books this week all of the books featured below are ones that were released prior to 2018, physical books that I own, and a combination of ones I’m most excited to read as well as those that have been here since the dawn of time.
Been Here the Longest
The Snow Child by Eowyn Ivey
I’ll Give You the Sun by Jandy Nelson
Yaqui Delgado Wants to Kick Your Ass by Meg Medina
Allegiant by Veronica Roth
White Teeth by Zadie Smith
I’m 90% sure that all of these were acquired around or before 2016 and haven’t been read yet because of lack of enthusiasm/forgetting/omg why Veronica Roth
Most Excited To Get To
They Drew As They Pleased: The Hidden Art of Disney’s Golden Age – the 1930s by Didier Ghez
Everfair by Nisi Shawl
The Last Namsara by Kristen Ciccarelli
Rebel of the Sands by Alwyn Hamilton
Smoke Gets in Your Eyes and Other Lessons from the Crematorium by Caitlin Doughty
Coincidentally all of these are also gifts that I am incredibly excited to read but just haven’t gotten around to them yet!
I’m sure we will all be put to shame by this topic but it’s ok, we can all be a bit ashamed together and encourage each other to get round to all the great books we own.
This month for the #mythothon I’m reading Everfair, I’ll Give You the Sun, and the Last Namsara ❤
I love, love, love I’ll Give You the Sun. I just re-read it and I loved it even more the second time. I think it’s one of the best YA contemporaries out there 😊 The Snow Child’s also an amazing read, I was so immersed in the Alaskan setting, definitley a good one to read in the wintertime. I hope you enjoy them both when you get to them! Lovely list!

Oooh nice! I definitely want to get round to them both (if not at least one of them) this month. The Snow Child is going to be such a good winter read as well

Smoke Gets In Your Eyes is an EXCELLENT read! I love macabre nonfiction like that. I’m waiting for her other book to go down in price before I buy that one too.

I really need to read Yaqui Delgado myself. I loved Mag Medina’s Burn Baby Burn, so want to go back and read this one. Someday.

I got maybe a chapter into Allegiant right when it came out and was like “nope” and gave it away to my friend. White Teeth is also on my TBR!

I want to read it at some point because my partner bought me the entire set and I refuse to be conquered by it xD
