WWW Wednesday is hosted by Sam @ Taking on a World of Words! All you have to do is answers the following three questions:
What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?
This week has been really hectic for me so I haven’t been able to do much reading in between university and life stresses, and drowning my misery in my new Nintendo Switch… I feel like I’m making slow and steady progress on my ARCs though!
Currently Reading
I’m not gonna lie, when I requested this on Netgalley last year I didn’t know anything about it other than how hyped it was and how much I loved that cover. I’m 75% of the way through Tempests and Slaughter and have been completely taken by surprise by how much I’m adoring this book?! The story is great, I’m in love with all of the characters and the world building, and am enjoying Tamora Pierce’s writing. I can’t put it down!
Recently Finished
I DID IT! I FINISHED IT! It took me almost 4 months to do it but I finally finished Defy the Worlds. I started enjoying it a lot more once I got back into the flow of the book but sadly didn’t love it as much as the first book, Defy the Stars. I might read the final installment when it’s released to see how the series concludes but it definitely won’t be a priority.
Next Read?
As there’s a few more days left in January, the month of overdue ARCs, I’m hoping to squeeze in another one once I’ve finished Tempests and Slaughter although I have a very stressful week coming up this week/next week so I’m not sure if I’ll have time. If I do, I want to read The Science of Science Fiction! Regardless of whether I get round to my next ARC I want to read Moonstruck Vol. 1 which I bought with my Christmas money because I need some queer supernatural cute fluff right now!
I felt the same way when I read Tempest and Slaughter. I got totally carried away and I hadn’t read anything by the author before. It was so good and so interesting. I’m very much looking forward to the next one 😊 I’m very happy you are enjoying it 😊

I love the cover for Tempests and Slaughter. I’ve never heard of it, but I definitely want to look it up and see if it’ll be something I’ll be interested in.

I just borrowed Moonstruck from the library last night! I’m hoping it cures this reading slump, I’m in. I’m sorry that Defy The Worlds didn’t meet your expectations. Hopefully the series concludes the way you want it to.

Saw you’re having a stressful time. Hope you’re doing okay! Drowning your stress in your Nintendo Switch is totally allowed. Self-care is everything, as we both know. ❤
Good job on catching up on ARC's btw! 🙂
