Welcome to the B side of Have I Played This Yet? In case you missed the introductory post, HIPTY is a series started by Tecsie where she goes through her games alphabetically and talks about whether she’s played them or not. It’s a great way to hold myself accountable for all of the games I own that I haven’t yet played as well as inspire me to get playing them.
Today is the day of E!
Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Platform: Xbox 360
Status: Completed (1 full playthrough)
Oh Skyrim :’) I have such fond memories of spending tens of hours of my life wandering under the stars, getting lost in creepy underground crypts and fighting dragons. I re-bought this a little while ago on Steam to replay it again but don’t have enough to sink back into such an open world game again haha.
Emily is Away
Platform: PC (Steam)
Status: Completed (2 playthroughs)
Emily is Away is a free game available through steam which tells the story between Emily and your faceless character through an online messaging service (AIM?) It’s such short and can be played through in one setting, and I loved the unique format of the game. My first ever article for Sidequest was a revisit to the discussions around this game and offering a perspective of it through a queer gaze.
The Escapists
Platform: PC (Steam)
Status: 20 minutes
I was so disappointed by this game that I gave up playing it after 20 minutes and never picked it up again. I loved how the game looked and had seen such raving reviews about it, but I just found it confusing and boring.
Eufloria
Platform: PC (Steam)
Status: 2 hours
I played Eufloria for a lot longer on my ex’s account and had to re-buy it for my own account because its such a lovely and beautiful game. You play as a commander of a colorful seed colony with the aim of re-populating grey asteroids, turning them into beautiful floral colonies, and fighting against the invasive scourge of the grey seeds.
Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture
Platform: PS4
Status: Completed (1 playthrough)
I have so much love for Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture. It’s definitely one of the most beautiful and memorable games that I’ve played. It’s a walking simulator/science-fiction game which is set in a little English village where all the inhabitants have mysteriously disappeared. As you walk around the village you encounter balls of light who reveal the story as you go. Its such a great game and I would recommend it to anyone.
Looks like I’ve done much better at getting through my E games as I’ve completed 3/5 of them. I have no interest in playing The Escapists so lets call that one a ‘DNF’ but I would love to play through more of Eufloria on my own account.
Let me know your thoughts if you’ve played any of these or any ones you’d like to play
Aah Skyrim! I could never get into it. I kept dying and my horse kept dying and it was so frustrating 😀
I played Emily is Away but I don’t remember any of the story so I’m gonna go replay now.
Eufloria sounds really neat, I’ll check it out. And the title is a pun!
I wanted to join you, then I opened Steam and realised I have NO games starting with E. So see you at F 😀
