Hey all! You might have noticed this week’s change in title from WWW Wednesday to “The Weekly Wrap”. The Weekly Wrap is a new weekly post created by Destiny who combined the WWW Wednesday meme and The Sunday Post to bring her readers the best of both worlds within one tidy post. As I already use a similar format but just stuff everything into my WWW Wednesday posts, I thought it would be cool to adopt Destiny’s The Weekly Wrap here too. She’s also been kind enough to let me use her post as a template as I love the way that she laid everything out, so a big thank you to Destiny. I hope you all enjoy the change ❤

current reads:
While her boss the prince was busy wooing his betrothed, Likotsi had her own love affair after swiping right on a dating app. But her romance had ended in heartbreak, and now, back in NYC again, she’s determined to rediscover her joy—so of course she runs into the woman who broke her heart.
When Likotsi and Fabiola meet again on a stalled subway train months later, Fab asks for just one cup of tea. Likotsi, hoping to know why she was unceremoniously dumped, agrees. Tea and food soon leads to them exploring the city together, and their past, with Fab slowly revealing why she let Likotsi go, and both of them wondering if they can turn this second chance into a happily ever after.

I’ve had a remarkably good reading week, completing three books which is absolutely unheard of from me. That’s when you know I’m procrastinating hard on my academic work…
- They Drew as they Pleased: The Hidden Art of Disney’s Golden Age ⭐⭐⭐⭐
- Wranglestone ⭐⭐⭐⭐ [review next Tuesday]
- Notes on a Thesis ⭐⭐⭐
up next:
I’m experimenting with not lining myself up with TBR’s this year as I enjoyed giving myself the freedom to pick up whatever takes my fancy. I might go in for one of my Christmas gifts and/or the previous and next issues of Uncanny Magazine.
- The Electric State
- Uncanny Magazine Issue 30: Disabled People Destroy Fantasy!
- Uncanny Magazine Issue 32
new arrivals:
- e-arcs:
- The New Voices of Science Fiction
- The Spectrum Girl’s Survival Guide

I’ve been a little bit naughty this week in requesting a few new ARCs even though I have a bit of a back log still and won’t have tonnes of time for reviewing this year. I loved the look of both of these though and want to keep up with at least a few new releases this year.
what I’m playing:
🎮 Pokemon Sword (Nintendo Switch)
🎮 The Sims 4 (Get Famous & Discover University)
This week I’ve sunk a lot of my time into video games, primarily The Sims 4, as it’s the first week I’ve had where I’ve been able to actually relax and as a result of a looming deadline I have that has been stressing me out! Although I’ve really been enjoying the Sims and playing more video games, I need to make sure I’m keeping up with my work next week and want to focus on games that have an end to them so I can actually tackle my gaming back log.
life updates:
This week I’ve been trying to work on my fears and anxieties surrounding writing (both academically and creatively). I desperately want to get back into creative writing but have some things I need to work through regarding fears which paralyze my writing.
My funding proposal is due next Monday (13th) which is something that has been generating a lot of stress for me. Progress has been excruciatingly slow but I’m hoping to keep edging towards the finish line and hope it will do.
a few last words:

I love this weekly wrap up post idea! I may have to check out Destiny’s blog and possibly do it myself. 🙂 That’s awesome that you were able to complete three books this week. I finished three books this week too (one a novel, one graphic novel, and an audiobook).
I need to set aside some time each week to play Pokemon Sword. I am really enjoying the game, but have been forgetting about it to read more or watch more of my TV shows instead. One of my personal goals for this year is to complete Pokemon Sword.
Sending you good vibes to hopefully help work through your fear and anxiety about writing again. I hope you have a great rest of the week, Avery. 🙂

The cover for Once Ghosted, Twice Shy always made s me smile. I’ve only read one Alyssa Cole novel, but I really enjoyed it. Wishing you lots of luck with your creative writing this year!
