*Triumphant Star Wars Theme Tune*
It’s the 4th of May today (if you hadn’t already noticed), so rather than do my new What’s on the Box feature I’m going to be sharing with you 4 of my favourite things about Star Wars!
There are lots of people who couldn’t give a flying care about Star Wars, my mum included, which is fine – but Star Wars has always been a huge part of my life. I was raised on the Original Trilogy with Luke, Leia, and Han Solo as a child and I’m 100% sure it started my lifelong love affair with Science Fiction as well as kickass female protagonists ❤ I wasn’t born when the first films came out but I have been to see every single film release at the cinema since, collected various books, played a lot of the video games and otherwise invested a lot of time into the SW universe. Here are some of my favourite things from SW over the past 26 years.

Kristen @ KristanKravesBooks shared this great idea that she got from bloggers like Caitsteelsbookworld. I’ve been using Goodreads since 2012 so I would hope that they would at least know me a little bit, but it’ll be fun to test that theory!
How it works: Open up your recommendations under the Browse tab and decide whether or not you would be interested in any of the books it’s recommended you. It will offer you recommendations according to your different shelves so if you’re like me, you will have tonnes have recommendations for alllllll of your shelves. To make my life easier I’ve chosen 3 shelves to focus on: favourites, TBR, and diverse, and picked the books that I would be interested in reading.

2018… ahh.. the start of a new year and a new bullet journal. Or, in my case, skipping ahead a few pages of my 2017 bullet journal and trying to ignore the travesty of the beginning. I got my bullet journal last year after my partner stumbled across them on Pinterest and I knew I had to get one. They were so pretty! It provided an excuse to unleash the perfectionist and the stationery lover in me. It seemed like a perfect match until it wasn’t.

The Winter Holidays can be tough on many of us. It’s often a time when a lot of difficult circumstances and experiences arise during the times when you least want to (or are able to) deal with them. It might be the first (or even tenth) holiday season without a loved one, where you’re without a roof over your head, where you struggle to cope with addiction or family members who are addicts, where you have no money for heating let alone any presents… the list goes on. This Blogmas I wanted to acknowledge the difficulties that many of us face during the winter holidays and talk about my own experiences of being trans during this time. Obviously, trans people are not a homogenous group so rather than generalize the ‘trans experience’, this post will explicitly be about my own experiences and I welcome other trans people to add their voices too.

I wanted to come at you with something a little different for Blogmas today, something that I care about a lot and hope you will find interesting/useful too! Many people don’t realize that I have a little old Syrian hamster and have had him for about 2 years now. I don’t tend to post about him too much, just as he’s a bit of a solitary wanderer who likes his space but now he’s definitely getting on in life I thought it would be helpful to do a little post about what it’s like to care for an elderly hamster, what adjustments you might need to make, and preparing yourself for the inevitable!
