Discussion | My ARC Shelves

Last month I saw a few of these great posts going around the blogosphere where bloggers shared their current ARC shelves and I thought it would be fun to join in as well!

This year has been a fantastic year for ARCs. I was approved for some of the most anticipated releases of the year on Netgalley, had all of my blogging dreams come true when I started receiving physical ARCs from UK publishers, and also had the opportunity to work directly with some authors. Needless to say, I’m incredibly grateful for all of the ARCs I receive but on the flip side of this success, there is also a mounting collection of overdue ARCs which I feel endlessly guilty about.

Like Destiny, I think that being transparent about what goes on behind the bloggers’ computer is a great way to show the reality of blogging life (lots and lots of unread books) and builds solidarity between us by showing you’re not alone in your struggle/guilt around ARCs!

Book Tag | Three Bookish Things

I didn’t have a book tag planned for today but after seeing this one on Norrie and Kristin‘s blogs, I really wanted to do it. Sometimes book tags can end up feeling all the same but I liked that these questions were a bit different – so here are my answers!

Nine Worlds | Reading List

It’s that time of year again when I head off to Nine Worlds and we only have 3 more days to go, so in true Avery fashion, I am doing all of my very last minute organizing and posting.

On Wednesday/Thursday, I will do a post about what sessions I am doing this year, where you can find me and what other sessions I am going to! Annoyingly, it didn’t occur to me do a book blogging session (which I’m kicking myself for but there’s always next year), so to bring some bookish love to Nine Worlds I wanted to share some my 9W reading list (let’s not talk about the fact that I don’t have much time left).

YALC 2018 |Awesome Authors, Amazing Books & Awful Accessibility

I return from my first ever YALC!

Last week I posted about my plans to attend the YA Lit Con in London for the first year and wanted to do a little round-up because, unsurprisingly, I picked up a lot of fantastic books, met some great people and attended some interesting panels that I wanted to share with you all.

Unfortunately, not every aspect of YALC was as great as it could have been and, quite frankly, the accessibility was appalling. I posted about it a lot on twitter at the time but wanted to be able to go a bit more in-depth about what actually happened and what could have been done differently to make the entire experience enjoyable.

YALC 2018 | The Final Countdown + Plans

This year will be my first year at YALC and I am so excited for many, many reasons. For those who don’t know about YALC (like me last year!), it’s a YA Lit Convention happening in London this weekend! Lots of authors will be attending to talk on panels and sign books, there are lots of stalls giving away review copies and selling bookish merch, and lots of book bloggers will be in attendance too!

4 days to go!
