Wrap Up | June 2019 + the Simsathon

Hey friends!

As of tomorrow, we will have passed into the second half of 2019 but it still feels like only yesterday when I was setting my 2019 goals back in January. I can’t deal with how fast the year is going by and it needs to slow down because I don’t want to think about all of my upcoming deadlines…

June managed to be a surprisingly good reading and gaming month for me but on the flip side of that it’s because I didn’t manage to get much work (blogging and uni) done which has been fairly frustrating. For now, though, I want to celebrate the progress I made with my reading and the fun that I had in taking part in the Sims-a-thon!

Wrap Up | May 2019 + the unintended hiatus

Hey friends!

Some of you may (or may not) have noticed that I’ve been absent for pretty much the entirety of May. I had planned to take a little step back from blogging anyway as this summer is going to be really busy for me on my Master’s degree, but then I managed to catch/develop gastroenteritis – a nasty contagious stomach bug – which completely knocked me out for almost 2 weeks. Then I had to return to work, start planning my long summer of uni work, and celebrate my partner’s birthday on Sunday. Before I knew it, I found myself at the end of May? I feel like I blinked and missed it.

A couple of weeks ago, I tweeted about my concerns around being able to manage book blogging alongside starting my PhD in September (not to mention squeezing it in amongst all my Master’s work this summer) and I’m still not sure what the outcome of my ponderings will be. It’s definitely something I’m planning on writing a discussion post about so that I can talk about it more in-depth and speak to other book bloggers who manage their blog alongside busy lives. What I do know though, from having my unintended break this month, is that I feel a lot less happy when I’m not blogging and I felt so isolated from my book blog friends. Writing this post is already beginning to lift my low mood but I’m also anxious about how much work I have to do. Anyway, that’s not a decision to be made right now – instead, I want to share with you all what I did manage to get up to during Moody May ❤

Wrap Up | September

Hey everyone!

As usual, this month has gone by in a complete flash. As I’ve been so busy its gone by quicker than usual so I haven’t been able to get as much blogging or reading done as usual. But I did relaunch this blog with an entirely new look so I think that’s a pretty good excuse, right? I’m also so close to meeting my Goodreads reading challenge, which is great because my time to read non-academic books is about to take a hit as of next month!

Wrap Up | June

Hey friends!

It’s the end of June, the end of Pride, and the second half of the year is almost upon us already. 2018 has been a blur so far, June was no different and July definitely is going to be the same! I read some super great diverse books and participated in some cool reading themes including the Ramadan Readathon, World Ocean Day, and Pride.

Wrap Up | March: Women’s History Month

March has felt like such a bizarre month; both unendingly long but also too short now that the end of the month is here. The fact that April is just around the corner is just blowing my mind – how can 3 months have already swept past? When I was little, it felt like time just went on forever but now that I’m an adult it feels like time is a train that just won’t stop.

Now that those thoughts are out into the world, let’s discuss what happened during March!
