November TBR | SciFiMonth 2019

EC4QllfWwAE0MJH

I can’t quite believe how long it’s been since I posted my last post on this blog (25th September) and how quickly time seems to have flown. Things have been quite hectic for me since starting my PhD in September for various reasons including, most recently, a huge mess up with my doctoral loan which caused untold stress. But, for now, that is all besides the point because today I have quickly shoved my lowly human woes to the back of the closet so that I can make space for my favourite month of the yearSciFiMonth! It’s been a bit of a chaotic rush to tie up some loose Earthly ties, throw a load of miscellaneous items in my space-faring rucksack, and rush over in time to catch the SciFiMonth ship before it departed but I made it and I’m ready to report.

Wrap Up | November

The end of the year is almost upon us and I am not ready for it in any shape or form. Things got super intense at uni this month as I had to submit my PhD research proposal to my department for early feedback before the funding deadline in January, so I’ve been working flat out on my proposal all month meaning that both my reading and blog got horribly neglected. I had been planning for November & December to be my catch up months, and the thought of having to squeeze all of the catch up into just December now is making me a bit nervous haha!

I beat my second reading challenge goal of the year! Round 1 saw me smash my goal of 50 books, and now I’ve beaten my stretch goal too!

The Sunday Post | Reading Week Joy

Hey friends, welcome to The Sunday Post – a weekly meme hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer to share all the weekly news and feels!

I am very happy that is finally reading week even though I still have a lot of work to do during this week. Things on my course are about to ramp up about 100% once reading week is over as I have to start putting together my funding proposal and apply for my PhD so it’s going to be super stressful, so having this week as a little bit of breathing space before that happens is going to be nice. It also gives me a chance to catch up on all of the reviews, reading and such that I put off this week!

November TBR | #Mythothon & Remember November

Hey friends!

I haven’t done a bingo event for what seems like forever so I couldn’t resist the lure of Foxes and Fairytale’s #mythothon for November, especially given my love for Greek mythology! As the end of the year is hurtling towards us at rapid speed the #mythothon bingo card also gives me the perfect opportunity to work out which books have been sadly sidelined this year and try to finish them before the end of the year. Which leads me onto the other thing happening this month, Remember November, a challenge to help you meet those pesky 2018 goals we set at the beginning of the year! Reading more owned books was one of my main goals for the year, so the mythothon and Remember November tie in perfectly for me.
