2019 Reading Challenges

This year I took part in my first proper reading challenges, Beat the Backlist and the Goodreads Challenge, with varying success. Although I absolutely smashed my Goodreads Challenge, I struggled to balance backlist books with new releases and ARCS as well as log my reading progress with the BtB database to register points. However, I had a lot of fun with reading challenges and found that they (mostly) helped me keep on track with my reading!

For 2019, I’m committing myself to even more reading challenges and am super excited to take part. I’ve matched my challenges up to my reading goals, which I’ll be sharing with you all on New Years Eve, but for today I’m sharing with you all which challenges I’ll be taking part in and 8 books I will read for each as well as linking you up to the hosts so you can sign up too if you want! A massive thanks to the wonderful Tina for her 2019 Reading Challenge Index which helped me find some new challenges to take part in.

2018 Bullet Journal

2018… ahh.. the start of a new year and a new bullet journal. Or, in my case, skipping ahead a few pages of my 2017 bullet journal and trying to ignore the travesty of the beginning. I got my bullet journal last year after my partner stumbled across them on Pinterest and I knew I had to get one. They were so pretty! It provided an excuse to unleash the perfectionist and the stationery lover in me. It seemed like a perfect match until it wasn’t.

New Year Challenges 2018

New Year 2018

Happy New Year everyone!! Hope you all enjoyed seeing the new year, regardless of how you chose to do it. Me and my partner had a very chilled evening of eating Chinese takeaway, preparing my 2018 bullet journal, watching Jools Holland’s Hootenanny, and crashing out at about 1.30am. We also celebrated the anniversary of the night we first met 3 years ago, so there were lots of quiet celebrations all around. Preparing my bullet journal last night also gave me a moment to catch up with everybody else’s new year goals, challenges and January TBR’s which have given me some great ideas for my own plans!

2017 in review | The 1st year of blogging

2017 has been a huge year for me for a lot of reasons. Not only was it the year where I set up this blog and took my first baby steps into the book blogging community, but I also ran in my uni elections, graduated from university, got my first professional job after a long period of unemployment, discovered I might have fibromyalgia, made loads of new friends, ran a solo panel at Nine Worlds where I spoke in front of 50-100 people about Queer Coding in Disney, celebrated our one year engagement anniversary, oh… and met my GoodReads challenge of reading 25 books this year! I also made my NetGalley account, received my first e-ARC and won my first physical ARC giveaway.
